It’s no secret that the fashion world evolves every day and it’s important for designers to think outside the box. This is the very idea that keeps Libsa standing tall. Libsa utilizes trends as inspirations rather than as a way to copy other designers. (I don’t know about you guys, but my third-grade teacher would hate copy cats.) Of course, learning what sells in the contemporary market is an important guideline, but it is up to the designer to make their personal designs unique, while incorporating the popular trends in the market.
Libsa shared valuable advice that we at AMCONYC believe every fashion designer can appreciate, “I would tell other designers to research the market before creating a collection. It’s great to design and create your vision but, most importantly, you need to find where you fit in the market so that you are successful. Always be unique!”
Libsa was inspired by the chic and effortless style of the 70’s. Bianca Jagger was definitely the muse! The brand was established in order to create a beautiful and timeless brand with unique prints and fabrics adding a soft and romantic feeling dedicated to the alluring women of today.
The designs are crafted delicately using luxurious fabrics that have been carefully treated to ensure a soft feeling. The goal is to create a collection that provides classic, timeless pieces women love that match with any outfit. Libsa designs have even been featured in design scene magazine! Way to go Libsa!
A Libsa Rhapsody
Instantly when I looked at the collection from Libsa, I felt as though I had been transported back to the 70s and rock was still as impactful as it was abundant. Not only did musicians at the time create music, they also created lifestyles. The sound and the aesthetic went hand-in-hand.
In order to keep the ideas of musical inspiration and perfect combinations going, I’ve created a how-to-style post that features a piece from Libsa’s AW15 Lookbook with the perfect accessory to go with each one and keep the harmony flowing. Picking pieces from other labels with strong music and luxury roots, the pieces from Libsa are complemented in the perfect way.
